EL PASO, Texas - The University of Memphis softball team scored six runs in the top of the seventh as the Tigers earned a comeback 10-8 victory at UTEP on Sunday. The win is the 100th victory for Memphis head coach Windy Thees and the four-year old program.

The U of M (11-10, 1-2) came back from being down 3-0 through the first three innings to go ahead 4-3 in the fourth. After UTEP scored five more runs to take a four-run lead into the top of the seventh inning, Memphis mounted its second comeback of the game. The Tigers scored six runs on eight hits to take a two-run lead en route to the team's first conference victory of the season.

Memphis scored 10 runs for the second time in the series with the Miners and recorded 15 hits in the game. The Tigers were led by freshman Kamri Chester who finished 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. The four hits ties for second all-time in the program's history.

Freshman Jessica Phillips finished 2-for-4 for Memphis with three RBI. The first baseman cleared the bases with a three-run double that began the six-run rally in the seventh.

Junior Vanessa Walle (3-4) earned the victory after pitching all seven innings. Walle allowed six earned runs on 10 hits and struck out pinch hitter Shea Lodes to end the game with a runner on third. Walle also had two doubles in the game, including a RBI double through the left side that scored the go ahead run for Memphis in the seventh.
