• Memphis earned its second series win over ECU in school history. The first series victory came in the Tigers' inaugural season in 2006 when Memphis won two out of three in Memphis.

• The Tigers open conference play 2-1 for the second time in school history. Memphis began 3-2 last season when it split two at UCF to open the season with one game cancelled due to weather and then won two of three at home against UTEP.

• Memphis is now 12-1 when scoring first this season.

• Memphis is now 9-3 in one-run games this year with all but eight of 20 games decided by a run.

Janelle Valle recorded the Tigers' third one-hit or less effort of the season. Lauren Carley threw a one-hitter against Alabama A&M and Carly Hummel pitched a no hitter against North Florida.

Janelle Valle improves to 4-2 on the season after throwing her first career one-hit complete game. She combined on a one-hitter with Kimber Bossom against Houston on April 11, 2009.

Maddie McKinley hit her second career double in the fourth inning and her first since 2009. She then came around to score her 11th run of the season, second most on the team.

Jessica Phillips (2-for-3) had her fourth multi-hit game of the season and 13th of her career. She knocked in the Tigers' only run on a single in the fourth, giving her 12 RBI on the season, which leads the team.
