STORRS, Conn. - The final game of a three-game series at Connecticut was canceled Sunday morning due to the heavy rain in the area throughout the night and expected throughout the day.

Additionally, Saturday's halted game two was made final. The Tigers do not get a chance to complete their comeback, falling 9-6 in six innings.

Memphis scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning behind freshman Lindsay Crowdus' seventh triple of the season. Sophomore Georganna Goodwin also hit her first collegiate home run in the game.

Memphis drops to 13-20 overall and 0-5 in the American Athletic Conference, while UConn improves to 7-20 and 2-5 in league play.

The Tigers look to get back on track with a 10-game home stand beginning Wednesday. Memphis will host a doubleheader with Austin Peay starting at 4 p.m. at the Tigers Softball Complex. The games are part of Wednesday Bingo night with fans receiving the opportunity to win Tiger prize packs.

Memphis will host its first American Athletic Conference series next weekend when Temple comes to town for a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6. On Saturday, the first 150 fans will receive a Memphis Tigers softball. On Sunday, there will be a Free Softball Clinic with the team following the game for ages 5-13. To attend the clinic, please RSVP with Rob Axline at rmaxline@mempis.edu or 901-678-4324.
