Leila Dolfo knocked in her team-leading 26th RBI of the season on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to score Sarah Schneider. It is Schneider's seventh run of the season.
Rayna McClinton struck out a Memphis season high 11 batters in the game, which ranks in a tie for fourth in the school's history. McClinton is the first pitcher to strike out at least 10 batters since Jenna Kubesch's 12 K's against East Carolina on May 10, 2007.
With four hits allowed, it marks the third consecutive start McClinton has allowed four hits or less. The seven innings pitched are a career high for McClinton.
Rayna McClinton struck out the side in the fourth inning. The last Memphis pitcher to strike out the side was Kimber Bossom against Furman on March 16.
This is only the fourth victory for Memphis this year when the opponent scores the first run. The Tigers are now 4-15 in those situations.
