Leila Dolfo hit her team-leading 10th home run of the season in the third inning. The towering solo shot to left field is her 21st RBI and team-leading 31st run scored. Nine of her 10 homers have been solos. Leandra Hines had her eighth multi-hit game of the season with two singles. Kimmi Hayden knocked in her fourth RBI of the day with a double to give Memphis a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning. She now has 19 RBI and matches a season best five-game hitting streak. The double is her fifth of the year. Leila Dolfo had her 14th multi-hit game with a home run and a double. Dolfo's double is her team-leading 16th of the season. Kara Ross had her ninth multi-RBI game with a two-run single in the seventh inning. She leads the team with 34 RBI. Melissa Nance hit her fifth home run of the season, a three-run shot in the seventh inning. It is Nance's fourth multi-RBI game and third game with three or more RBI. Nance now has 20 RBI on the season. Leigh Rowan had her second multi-hit game with two singles. Lindsey Pridgen had her sixth multi-hit game with two singles. Tori Gross hit her second home run in less than week in the seventh inning. After hitting her first career homer against Marshall over the weekend with a three-run shot, Gross hit another three-run dinger, this time against SEMO. Gross now has 16 RBI on the season. The three RBI matches a career high for Gross and is the third time she has matched the total this season. She now has four multi-RBI games this year.
The three Memphis home runs matches a program record that has now been accomplished seven times. Memphis matches its 2006 win total with 28 victories on the season. Tori Gross scored her fifth winning run of the season and Kimmi Hayden had her third game-winning hit. |
