@MemphisSoftball Defeated in a 6-0 Loss Against Louisville in Game Two of the Series

Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Memphis softball team dropped at 6-0 contest to the Louisville Cardinals in game two of the American Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Tigers Softball Complex.
Christian Novak (9-10) took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits.
With the loss Memphis falls 23-31 overall and 5-14 in conference play. Louisville improves 32-30 and 12-7.
The Cardinals took the early lead in the first inning when both Whitney Arion and Kelsi Jones scored a run after Brittany Duncan hit a double down the right field line for the third-straight hit to open the game.
Memphis gave up an opportunity to score when three runners were stranded on base in the bottom of the second with one out. Lindsie Knowles took the first out for the Tigers when Cierra Mangum reached base on a fielder's choice bunt. Jaye Smith followed with a single that advanced Mangum to second. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch and Calli Irvin was walked. Mangum was called out at home on Amber Lindahl's fielder's choice that advanced Smith to third and Irvin to second. The Tigers were unable to push through when Lindsay Crowdus struck out looking.
Louisville scored another run in the top of the fifth and sixth inning, leading the contest 4-0.
The Tigers gave up another opportunity to score when two runners were stranded on base at the end of the sixth inning.
The Cardinals answered with two more runs in the top of the seventh, securing the win.
The Tigers and the Cardinals will return to action for the rubber match of the three-game series on Sunday at 12 p.m. (CT). Memphis' six seniors will be honored before the game at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Senior Day.
