LAFAYETTE, La. - Rain forced the University of Memphis women's softball team to put off the start of its inaugural season by a day with the cancellation of Friday's contests against Ole Miss and Louisiana-Lafayette.

The Lady Tigers will now see their first official game in school history on Saturday with match-ups against Grambling State and Louisiana-Lafayette. Game times for the two contests have also been changed. Memphis will open with Grambling State at 9 a.m. and will then play the host Louisiana Lafayette at 5 p.m. Sunday's game times and opponents are not affected by the changes.

Friday's canceled games will not be made up.
