MEMPHIS, TENN. --- The BIG EAST Conference rolled out a very warm welcome to the University of Memphis Friday morning with video boards proclaiming "Memphis Tigers - Welcome To The BIG EAST!" in Time Square.
The video boards are located on the corner of 46th and Broadway, and are running 30 seconds every hour throughout today. The boards are provided through a BIG EAST corporate partnership with American Eagle Outfitters.
The University of Memphis officially announced it was joining the BIG EAST Conference on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at a press conference held in the Penny Hardaway Hall of Fame Assembly Room. The Tigers will become an all-sport member of the league beginning in July 2013.
