MEMPHIS, Tenn. - University of Memphis 2014-15 softball signee Katie Brignac has been named to the MaxPreps 2014 Preseason All-American Softball Team, MaxPreps.com announced on Thursday.

Brignac is entering her senior season at John Curtis Christian School in River Ridge, La, just west of New Orleans. As a junior in 2013, Brignac finished with a 20-0 record with 225 strikeouts and a 0.75 earned run average in the circle. At the plate, Brignac led the team with a .444 batting average, while posting 10 home runs and 30 runs batted in last season. She was also named the New Orleans Times-Picayune Small Schools Pitcher of the Year. In her career at Curtis, Brignac is 69-7 with a 0.50 ERA and 650 strikeouts.

Brignac and high school teammate Brooke Lee have both signed to play at Memphis beginning in the fall of 2014. The duo has led the Patriots to state championships in both 2012 and 2013. The Patriots finished the 2013 season with a 32-1 record and a No. 5 national ranking from MaxPreps.com.
