HONOLULU, Hawai'i - On Saturday, the final day of the Chevron Spring Fling Tournament hosted by the University of Hawai'i was cancelled due to heavy rain through the night. The Tigers had their final game of the tournament against Wisconsin cancelled.

In the morning, some of the staff hiked Diamond Head Mountain that overlooks Waikiki Beach. The hike was about 0.8 miles each way and went up the mountain from inside the crater. The area was once used by the military as a lookout station. For the final stretch up the mountain, about 170 stairs had to be climbed, but the view at the top was breathtaking.

In the afternoon, the team boarded the bus and took about an hour and a half drive to the Polynesian Culture Center. The Tigers were able to learn about many of the different island cultures and experience live demonstrations and performances.

The team participated in a Luau that evening. Each person was greeted with a orchid lei. Before the meal, natives representing King Kamehameha and his court offered an ancestral welcome of song and dance. The meal consisted of several native foods.

After the Luau, the team went to the night show, Horizons. The show had over 100 performers, fire, waterfalls and a volcanic eruption.
