MEMPHIS - The University of Memphis softball team hosts a ranked team for the first time with a three-game league series against No. 20/21 Tulsa on Saturday and Sunday.

Memphis (11-14, 3-0 C-USA) and Tulsa (20-5, 3-0) will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at the Tigers Softball Complex and close with a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday. Admission for all home games is free.

After Sunday's game, the team will hold a FREE skills clinic for youth in eighth grade or under.

Throughout the weekend, Memphis will be collecting donations to support the Memphis Women's Soccer Relay for Life team, aiming to raise $500. The Relay for Life event on March 22nd will help raise money for cancer research through the American Cancer Society. Stop by the marketing table at the games to make a donation.

Memphis Hands Tulsa Second Conference Loss in 7-6 Victory
The University of Memphis battled a rain delay and the Conference USA Preseason Pitcher of the Year while pulling out a 7-6 victory over Tulsa on Saturday afternoon.

  • Memphis is 3-26 all-time against teams ranked in the top 25 nationally and beat #20 Hawaii on the road 5-0 earlier this season. 
  • Sophomore Jordan Richwood ranks eighth in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings with 10.2. 
  • Memphis leads the conference in sac bunts (24), batters struck out looking (48) and caught stealing by (14). The Tigers are second in strikeouts by (172).
