Memphis Softball Notes in PDF Format
April 7, 2006 MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis softball team will entertain Conference USA leader, Southern Miss in a three-game series this weekend at Greenbrook Park, as the Lady Tigers will look to get back on the winning track in their second home, conference series. Southern Miss enters the series with a 7-2 mark in Conference USA play after sweeping UCF last weekend to surpass Tulsa and Marshall in conference win percentage. The Golden Eagles are 21-24 overall on the season, but are 6-4 in their last 10 games. Memphis, with a 3-5 mark in league play, presently holds the sixth position in the C-USA standings. The Lady Tigers have struggled of late however, winning just three of their last 10, including three conference losses to Tulsa two weekends ago. The U of M squad will look to reverse that trend this weekend, returning to the friendly confines of Greenbrook Park, where the Lady Tigers are 6-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. The series is set to get underway Saturday in Southaven, Miss., with a double-header slated to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday's single game is also scheduled for 1 p.m. However, game times are subject to change due to the possibility of inclement weather in the Mid-South.
