Cierra Mangum Named TSWA Softball Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Freshman third baseman Cierra Mangum has been named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Softball Player of the Week for the week of April 1-7.
The Las Cruces, N.M., native hit .500 in Memphis' 4-1 week with eight hits, six runs, four RBI and four walks. In Memphis' 10-4 win over Southern Miss, Mangum went 4-for-5 with a team-high three runs and one RBI. In game two of the series, Mangum was 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs and two walks in the Tigers' 19-1 win over the Golden Eagles.
Mangum has started in 36 of the 37 games she has played this season with a team-leading 20 walks along with 14 runs scored and 12 RBI.
The Tigers wrap up an 11-game road swing tomorrow in Monroe, La., when they take on UL-Monroe at 4 p.m. CT.
