@MemphisSoftball Faces UT Martin on the Road in Midweek Action

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -The University of Memphis softball team travels to Martin, Tenn. on Wednesday to take on UT Martin (30-16, 11-9 OVC) in a single game beginning at 4 p.m. at the Bettye Giles Softball Field.
Memphis (21-32, 8-13 C-USA) has gone into extra innings in three-straight midweek games, going 1-2 in that span. The Tigers picked up their first win in extras last week with a 2-1 win over Mississippi Valley State in 10 innings. Last weekend, the Tigers were swept by East Carolina on the road with two one-run losses and a two-run setback. Senior outfielder Lelani Bernardino has led Memphis over the last five games with a .412 batting average while freshman outfielder Hannah Harrell has also been consistent at the plate with a .375 average.
Senior infielder Morgan Mosby leads Memphis this season with a .312 batting average and a .406 slugging percentage. The Hernando, Miss. native has also put together a team-best 53 hits and 23 RBI in 50 games this season.
Junior RHP Ellen Roberts (12-21) leads the Tigers with a 2.88 ERA in the circle with 22 complete games and 169 strikeouts in 211.2 innings pitched. Sophomore RHP Jordan Richwood (8-10) ranks 16th in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (9.2) with 154 strikeouts in 117.1 innings pitched.
UT Martin has dropped five of its last six games in OVC play. The Skyhawks' last midweek game was 5-4 victory in 11 innings against Southern Illinois on Apr. 10. Sophomore RHP pitcher Kenzi Tate leads UT Martin with a .336 batting average, 46 hits, 42 RBI and 10 home runs this season.
Tate has totaled a 16-4 record in the circle for the Skyhawks with a 2.71 ERA in 124.0 innings pitched. Sophomore LHP Casey Vincent has thrown a team-high 145.0 innings this season for a 12-7 record and a 2.41 ERA. Vincent has struck out 106 batters and allowed just 37 walks in her time in the circle.
The Tigers host their final home games of the season this weekend with a three-game series against conference foe Houston on Saturday and Sunday. Memphis will honor four seniors - Lelani Bernardino, Laura Curtis, Jami Miller and Morgan Mosby - before Sunday's game as they play their final contest at the Tigers Softball Complex.
