MEMPHIS – Sophomore outfielder Lindsie Knowles and former infielder Laura Curtis were named 2012-13 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.

The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2012-13 academic year.

Knowles is entering her second year as a Tiger after appearing in 27 games as a freshman. She hit .125 with 11 run scored. In fall exhibition play this year, the Celina, Texas, native hit .316 with five runs scored and two RBI.

Curtis graduated in August with a degree in health and human performance. She lettered two years with Memphis after transferring from Chattanooga State. The Chattanooga, Tenn., native hit .251 in her career with six home runs, 34 RBI and 38 runs scored. She was also named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team in 2013 and was a All-Conference USA second team selection in 2012.
