Members of the University of Memphis softball team participated in a Girl Scout Organization convention at AutoZone Park this fall. The convention's purpose was to show the girls what they could become if they worked hard and stayed focused on their dreams.

There were different booths set up and many different occupations were represented. The girls could participate in different activities, and there was a stage set up to where they could do dance moves along with a professional dancer. A band also played live music for the scouts to enjoy.

At some of the other booths, the girls could come up and talk to the different people. A group of the Lady Tigers had a booth at the convention. Many of the girls came up and got their autographs and took pictures with them. They asked several questions and were excited to meet the Tigers.

"Some of the little scouts became big Lady Tiger softball fans that day," said junior pitcher Lyndsey Sterling. "It was an eye opening and a very good life experience to take part in the convention."
