Sara Pearson Named 2012 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Memphis softball pitcher/outfielder Sara Pearson was tabbed as a 2012 NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2011-12 academic year.
Pearson appeared in 39 games as a freshman in 2012, making 27 starts. She started 23 games in right field and hit one home run with five RBI and 10 runs scored. The Somerville, Ohio, native also made six appearances in the circle and earned her first career victory in a 3-1 win over South Alabama.
