Collins Takes Title as Tigers Make Strong Showing at Memphis Invite

Spring 2011: Went 11-14 overall and 1-4 in Conference USA playing mostly at the No. 4 singles position...Won her only match at the No. 3 spot, a dominating 6-0, 6-0, win over Tennessee State's Khadijah Williams...Had a season-high four-match win streak with victories over players from Wofford, Detroit, Illinois State and MTSU...Also won three straight matches against players from UT Martin, Troy and Lipscomb...Defeated UCF's Courtney Griffith, 6-3, 7-5, in league action...retired three matches...Went 12-9 in doubles with teammate Courtney Collins and 0-2 pairing with Kathleen Hawkins...Combined with Collins to go 9-7 at the No. 1 spot and 3-2 at the No. 2 position...Also posted a 4-1 mark in C-USA play...Recorded a season-high four-match doubles win streak.

Fall 2010: Posted a 2-1 mark at the Memphis Invitational to kick off the tournament portion of the 2010-2011 slate...First win of the season came against Lauren White of Abilene Christian, 7-5 (3), 6-3...Closed out Invite with win over Arkansas State's Tina Ojdanic, 6-2, 6-2...Broke up losses to opponents from Alabama and Samford at Roberta Alison Classic with a win over Mississippi State's Vivian Pietraroia,7-6 (2), 6-2...Went 0-2 at ITA Ohio Valley Regionals...Picked up 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win against MTSU's Taylor Coffey to go 1-2 in Nashville, Tenn. at June Stewart Invitational...Wrapped up season going 0-3 at Midwest Blast...In doubles, upended Kara Jackson and Alyssa Bellini of Lipscomb, 8-2, with partner Kathleen Hawkins at June Stewart Invitational...Defeated MTSU's Alex Dachos and Yuiri Nornoto, 8-3...Finished season 0-5 with Hawkins against opponents from Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Illinois and Oklahoma.

Fall 2009: Finished the fall with a 2-3 mark overall...Went 0-1 at the Hoosier Classic with a loss to Middle Tennessee's Taylor Coffey, 6-3, 6-4...Picked up win over Indiana's Megan Matter, 6-2, 6-0 at ITA Ohio Valley Regional...Went 1-2 at the Florida State Invitational...Picked up win over Furman's Brooke Mosteller, 7-5, 6-1...Lost to Mississippi State's Danielle Terpko, 6-0, 6-2...Also fell to UCF's Taylor Dubins, 6-1, 6-1...In doubles, teamed with Andrea Arques-Garcia to go 0-2 at ITA Ohio Valley Regional...Pair fell to Indiana's Leslie Hureau and Myriam Sopel, 8-1...Lost to Purdue's Anya Dushkina and Remi Martin, 8-4...Went 1-2 with Amanda Brown at Florida State Invitational...Duo upended Mississippi State's Valeriya Makarycheva and Danielle Terpko, 8-4...Pair lost matches to foes from Miami and UCF.

Prep: Rated as the No. 3 recruit in the state of Tennessee coming out of high school...Tennisrecruiting.net also rated her as the 41st-best player in the Southeast Region...Gray defeated fellow freshman Courtney Collins at the Bullfrog Southern Junior Cup at the Champions Club in Lupton City, Tenn., in mid-September of 2008...She advanced to the round of 16 at the Bullfrog Southern Designated Tournament in Mobile, Ala., with two victories...Gray was the TSSAA Tennis State Champion in 2008...Won the USTA Tennessee Sportsmanship Award in 2006 for her attitude on the court..Gray has been the Tennis Athlete of the Year at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro for the past three seasons...Off of the court, Gray maintained a 3.94 GPA and ranks in the top of her class...Became a member of the National Honor Society in 2008...Also donated her time to being a Boys and Girls Club Tennis Instructor, as well as volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and for both the Red Cross Heartwalk and the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk.
