Junior (Spring 2001):
Hughes earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll...Played in eight singles matches during the season, finishing 0-1 at No. 5 and 1-6 at No. 6 singles...Hughes also played in two doubles matches, finishing 0-1 at No. 3 doubles with both Sumitra Rao and Rebecca Garner.

Fall 2000:
Hughes made the most of her playing time, finishing with a record of 6-5 in singles...She advanced to the consolation finals at Middle Tennessee State in Flight 4 singles before falling to Belmont's Lides Valerra, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1...Hughes was teamed with freshman Rebecca Garner for a mark of 4-8 in doubles play...The duo had a season-high three-match winning streak, which included a 15th-place finish at MTSU.

Sophomore (Spring 2000):
Hughes saw limited playing time during the spring...At No. 8 singles, Hughes was 1-2...She teamed with Sumitra Rao for a mark of 1-1 at No. 3 doubles and a 1-0 record with Kate Borthwick at No. 2 doubles.

Fall 1999:
Completed the fall season 6-5, including a 3-3 record at No. 7 singles and a 2-2 record at No. 8 singles...Captured the No. 7 singles consolation title at the University of Memphis/Varsity Pro Shop Invitational...Posted a 1-0 record at No. 6...Teamed with Kate Borthwick for a 3-3 record doubles record, including 2-2 at No. 4 doubles.

Freshman (Spring 1999):
Finished the spring season with a 2-12 singles record, including 2-10 at No. 6 singles...Was also 0-1 at both No. 4 and No. 5 singles... Had a 3-2 doubles record, including 2-2 with Annika Westberg (1-1 at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles)...also teamed with Claire O'Donoghue for a win at No. 2 doubles.

Prepped at Kings-Edgehill High School in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada...Hughes was coached by Mark Lever and Jamie Fergeson during her high school years...Hughes was also a member of the track and field, cross country, soccer and downhill skiing teams at Kings-Edgehill...she was MVP of her downhill skiing team as well as the MVP of her soccer team.


Hughes is the daughter of Michael and Barbara Hughes...born June 19, 1980... is undeclared in her major.
