Jordan Smith joined the Memphis coaching staff in the fall of 2011 after exhausting his eligibility as a player. A Memphis native, Smith was a four-year lettermen for the Tiger tennis team and helped Paul Goebel to his two most successful seasons at the helm of the program.

"Jordan proved to be a high-level college tennis player with his national ranking and spending time at No. 1 singles throughout his career," Coach Walker said. "More importantly, he has a good relationship with the players on our team and will have a confident presence on the court in matches. Jordan is a good friend and I appreciate his eagerness to help our program."
At the end of his collegiate career, had tallied an overall career 12-23 singles record and 49-26 doubles record with two ITA Summer circuit Tournament championships in doubles.
