Miami Spring Invite Day Three Results Get Acrobat Reader

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The No. 31 University of Memphis women's tennis team posted four wins on the final day of the Miami Spring Invite with two wins coming against No. 9 Miami in singles and two against No. 17 Texas in doubles play.

Memphis began the day in doubles as the team of Alyssa Hibberd and Caroline Wegner recorded a 7-6 (7) victory over No. 21 Breaunna Addison and Pippa Horn, the second top-30 victory for the pair this weekend. The freshmen duo of Anki Wind and Marta Morga posted a 6-3 win over Lina Padegimaite and Ratnika Batra, while Skylar Kuykendall and Liza Tymchenko fell in a tight match to Elizabeth Begley and Neda Koprcina, 7-6 (7).

In singles, Wind also recorded a win with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Victoria Zukowski, while Tymchenko pulled out a 6-1, 2-6, 10-5 victory over Brittany Dubins. Morga dropped her first match in singles on the weekend, falling 6-4, 2-6, 10-3 to Melissa Bolivar. Wegner and Hibberd came up short in their matches as Wegner was defeated by Clementina Riobueno, 6-3, 6-1, while Hibberd fell 6-4, 6-4 to Lina Lilekite. Kuykendall also fell on the losing end, dropping a 6-2, 6-0 match to Monique Albuquerque.

The Lady Tigers begin their dual season Saturday when they face No. 39 VCU in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C.
