No. 33 Women's Tennis Cruises to 4-0 Victory Over Iowa

NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 33 University of Memphis women's tennis team (2-1) recorded a 4-0 victory over Iowa (2-2) in the first of two weekend matches Saturday afternoon on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.
The Lady Tigers started off the day by taking the doubles point with Stefanie Mikesz and Anki Wind claiming a 6-3 win over the duo of Katie Zordani and Caitlin Hindmarsh at No. 2. Alyssa Hibberd and Caroline Wegner followed with a 6-4 victory over Ruth Seaborne and Morven McCulloch to clinch the point.
In singles, Hibberd gave Memphis a 2-0 lead after a quick 6-1, 6-0 win over Hindmarsh at No. 4. At No. 2 singles, Skylar Kuykendall pushed the Lady Tigers' advantage to 3-0 following a 6-2, 7-5 victory over McCulloch. Mikesz finished the match for Memphis by upsetting No. 56 Seaborne, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7), to give the Lady Tigers the victory.
Memphis completes its road trip tomorrow when it faces No. 28 Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
