CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The 59th-ranked Memphis women's tennis team swept both Wright State and Cincinnati in 7-0 decision in their two road contests on Friday, pushing the Tigers to 4-1 overall on the season.

The Blue and Gray kicked off the day in Dayton, Ohio, where they downed the Raiders (0-5) by capturing the doubles point early. Singles play saw some lineup changes, with senior transfer Tiffany Welcher picking up her first win at the No. 1 slot this season with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Kayla Tuscany.

Mariya Slupska, Stefanie Mikesz, Alyssa Hibberd and Kelly Gray all downed their Raider opponents in straight sets, and junior Andrea Arques-Garcia saw her first action this season, notching a win at No. 6 with a 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 win.

In the second dual of the day went similarly, with all three tandems picking tallying wins and the Tigers jumping out to the 1-0 lead. However, against the Bearcats, Slupska shifted up to the top slot, with Mikesz at No. 2, Courtney Collins playing at No. 3, and Hibberd, Gray and Arques rounding out the final three spots respectively.

Another third-set super tie-break victory from Arques, who upended Carly Wilson 7-5, 2-6, 10-5, clinched the sweep for the Tigers. The U of M will remain on the road, playing at Butler on Sunday, Feb. 12, in a match slated for 10 am CT.
