Women's Tennis Picks Up 5-2 Road Win Over UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. - The No. 43 University of Memphis women's tennis team posted a 5-2 win over UCF on Saturday at the UCF Tennis Complex for their third-straight victory over the Knights.
Memphis (10-6) began the day taking the doubles point over UCF (4-7), improving to 9-0 on the season when taking the 1-0 lead. Liza Tymchenko and Marta Morga recorded an 8-2 victory at No. 1 over Josephine Haraldson and Courtney Griffith, while Stefanie Mikesz and Anki Wind picked up an 8-3 win at No. 2 over Sofia Baptista and Cortney Cesarini for a 1-0 Memphis lead.
Wind pushed the Lady Tiger advantage to 2-0 after a 6-4, 6-0 win over Caroline Eberhart at No. 3 to become the first Memphis player with 20 singles wins this season. Skylar Kuykendall followed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Haraldson at No. 1 to make it 3-0 before Morga clinched the match for Memphis with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Cesarini at No. 4.
UCF got on the board as Baptista collected a 6-2, 6-4 win over Tymchenko at No. 5 to make it 4-1. Mikesz increased the Memphis lead with a 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (3) win over Griffith at No. 2 before Clare Mendell ended the match with a 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (4) victory over Alyssa Hibberd at No. 6 for a 5-2 final.
The Lady Tigers continue American Athletic Conference play Friday when they host Louisville in a 1 p.m. (CT) match at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
