Women's Tennis Falls at UAB, 4-3

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Memphis women's tennis team (10-11, 3-2 C-USA) suffered its second Conference USA loss of the season at UAB, Sunday. The Blazers took the early lead by sweeping the doubles matches , then picked up wins at No. 2, 4 and 6 singles to close out the victory. Senior Marlene Dirnstorfer won her No. 1 singles match, 6-2, 6-3 over Femke de Boer, while sophomore Andrea Feichtinger used a 6-2, 7-5 victory of Marrit Jansman at No. 3 to keep the Lady Tigers close. Freshman Yesica Ares picked up Memphis' third point of the match with a 4-6, 6-4, 3-1 victory before her opponent retired. The Lady Tigers will return home to wrap up the regular season with an Apr. 12th match against Arkansas State.
