The University of Memphis women's tennis team (9-9, 2-1) finished its regular season with a 6-3 win at UT-Martin, Wednesday.
The two teams were tied following completion of the singles matches, 3-3, before Memphis swept the doubles matches for a 6-3 victory.
Junior Christina Ladyman (Perth, West Australia) won her No. 1 singles match for her fourth consecutive No. 1 win. She has won seven of her last eight matches. Ladyman, a two time second-team C-USA athlete, went 3-0 against Conference USA foes last weekend and is 10-5 at the No. 1 spot this season.
Senior Claire O'Donoghue (Derbyshire, England) fought for a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 5 singles, her second consecutive win. The senior, who transferred from UT-Martin two seasons ago, is 5-8 at the No. 5 slot this season.
Freshman Angie Wilkinson (Wellington, New Zealand) also added a singles win at No. 6. Wilkinson, who boasts a season record of 2-3 at the No. 6 spot, also teamed with junior Betsy Card (Terre Haute, Ind./North Vigo) for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles.
Memphis now waits for the seedings to be announced for the Conference USA Championship Meet which will be held Apr. 13-15 in Tampa, Fla. Memphis finished eighth at last year's championships.
