Morga Advances to Flight Championship at Razorback Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Freshman Marta Morga advanced to the French Open Flight finals Saturday afternoon to highlight the University of Memphis women's tennis team's second day at the Razorback Classic.
Morga posted a 6-2, 6-0 win over Northwestern State's Natalya Krutova to move to the championship match. Morga and redshirt senior Liza Tymchenko remained undefeated in doubles with a thrilling 8-7 (5) win over Auburn's Reka Muller and Paula de Man.
In singles, Tymchenko posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Arkansas' Flavia Araujo and a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Northwestern State's Daniela Simonova in the Wimbledon Flight. Also in the Wimbledon Flight was freshman Anki Wind, who recorded a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Auburn's Ashley Kitchen.
Junior Alyssa Hibberd won a three-set match over Northwestern State's Polina Konop, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, while sophomore Caroline Wegner fell 6-3, 7-5 to Arkansas' Shannon Hudson in the U.S. Open Flight. The duo dropped a tight match in doubles to Tulsa's Maria Sant'Anna and Dobby Leenabanchong, 8-6.
Memphis wraps up the Razorback Classic tomorrow with play beginning at 9 a.m.
