MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The doubles teams of Sabrina Lindemann/Monica Gonzalez-Gordo and Sumitra Rao/Marlene Dirnstorfer each captured a doubles title in the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitatational, Saturday.

Lindemann and Gonzalez-Gordo captured their third consecutive title with an 8-2 win over the Cincinnati duo of Lyndsey Molony and Khuschehr Italia in A doubles. The No. 1 doubles team is now 6-1 on the season.

The team of Rao and Dirnstorfer used an 8-6 win to capture the B doubles title over the team of Florencia Basile (Ole Miss)/Emily Vest (Middle Tennessee). Rao and Dirnstorfer are undefeated at 6-0 in doubles on the season.

Four Lady Tigers will try to advance to the finals, being held Sunday, in the singles flights of the tournament. Rao defeated Leisa Brooks from Ball State, 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 to advance to the first semifinal of the B singles bracket, improving her singles record to 8-0. Rao's doubles partner, Dirnstorfer, also improved her singles record to 8-0 with a win over Nadia Dellarciprete from UAB, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to the first semifinal in C singles.

Andrea Feichtinger blanked her round of eight opponent, Jacksonville State's Karina Soares, 6-0, 6-0, to advance to the second semifinal of the D singles bracket. Teammate Kristen Noble was eliminated from that same bracket by Jacksonville State's Zeynep Gurkaynak, 6-4, 6-2.

Rebecca Garner will try to capture the fourth singles title for Memphis in the E singles bracket. Garner downed Katie Kelsey from Belmont, 6-0, 6-1, for her third singles win this season.

The Lady Tigers in the A bracket did not fare as well as their teammates after the match was moved indoors due to rain. The Lady Tigers, who do not have an indoor practice facility, lost both Lindemann and Gonzalez-Gordo from the A singles bracket. Lindemann was upset 6-1, 6-0 by Ball State's Melissa Roach, while Gonzalez-Gordo was upended by Middle Tennessee's Carien Venter, 0-6, 6-3, 10-5.

The Lady Tigers will return to campus to host their own fall tournament, beginning Friday, on the HPER courts on The University of Memphis campus.
