COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - When the tournament schedule was rained out at the Air Force Invitational last Saturday, some of the participating coaches decided to play a round of matches indoors since they already had travel plans that didn't leave the Colorado Springs area until Sunday. Memphis made the most of its opportunities to play some additional matches, going 6-1 in a three-round tournament that was largely made up of doubles play.

The team of Ekin Zafir and Dara Toulch went 2-1, defeating Air Force's Shortridge and Sarkis, 8-6, then defeated another Air Force team, Abayan and Kiser, 8-3. Their one loss was an 8-6 loss to the Portland State team of Knox and Stocking.

Marjorie Ondeck and Lindsey Wiseman went 2-0 in doubles, defeating Portland State's Dalkin and Knight, 8-1, then defeated Air Force's Abayan and Kiser, 8-3.

Two Lady Tigers also played singles matches, with Amanda Brown defeated Air Force's Monreal, 7-5, 6-4, while Lindsey Wiseman defeated Air Force's Cassman, 6-3, 6-2 in Flight 6.

The team competes in the ITA South Regional, beginning on Wednesday.
