Three Lady Tigers Take Titles at Memphis Collegiate Invite

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's tennis team wrapped up its fall home competition slate Sunday at the Memphis Collegiate Invite with Liza Tymchenko, Caroline Wegner and Marta Morga claiming titles on the final day at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
In the Black Draw, Tymchenko cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Andreea Badileanu of Miami (OH) for a perfect 6-0 combined record in singles and doubles this weekend. In the Gray Draw, Wegner posted a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over Tulsa's Saana Saarteinen to also record a 6-0 overall mark and move to 9-4 on the season. Morga improved to 7-2 on the year with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Ana Rajkovic of Miami (OH) in the Orange Draw.
In the White Draw final, Stefanie Mikesz fell 6-1, 6-3 to Tulsa's Rongrong Leenabanchong while Anki Wind dropped a 7-5, 6-4 match to Tulsa's Renata Kuricova in the Gray Draw. In doubles, Mikesz and Wind teamed up to defeat Chattanooga's Kayla Jones and Katie Polk, 8-3, to claim fifth place in the Blue Draw. The duos of Hibberd/Wegner and Tymchenko/Kuykendall were named co-champions in the draw.
Memphis wraps up its fall tournament schedule next weekend when the Lady Tigers travel to Sarasota, Fla., for the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic. The Lady Tigers have claimed the last two singles titles and are the reigning doubles champions at the event.
