MEMPHIS,Tenn.--The Memphis women's tennis team kicks off a three-match home stand this Friday, Jan. 28, at The Racquet Club of Memphis against in-state rival UT-Martin. The Lady Tigers and Skyhawks will start doubles play at 6:30 p.m., and will resume for singles as soon as the U of M men's match against Tennessee Tech wraps up.

Lady Tiger netters (0-2) are looking to capture their first win in 2011 after falling to two top-ranked programs in No. 11 Clemson and No. 15 Georgia last weekend. The program also hopes to protect its home winning streak, having posted a perfect 8-0 mark last season.

"We love playing at The Racquet Club and want to keep our streak going," head coach Lee Taylor Walker said. "If we don't respect and prepare professionally for these teams we could be in for trouble, but we've been practicing well and should have a lot of fun."

Under head coach Lee Taylor Walker, the U of M is 3-0 against UT-Martin in dual matches, 1-0 against Lipscomb. Memphis takes on Troy and Lipscomb in back-to-back dual matches on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. respectively. Admission to all U of M events at The Racquet Club is free.
