MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Lady Tiger sophomore netter Liza Tymchenko was recently selected to play in the US National Indoor Tennis Championships this week at The Racquet Club of Memphis.

Tymchenko will square off against Maria Sanchez (USA) at 11:30 a.m. today on the Stadium Court after receiving a wild card to begin play in the qualifying round.

A native of Kharkov, Ukraine, Tymchenko has had a successful year for No. 51 Memphis with a 17-6 overall record and a 2-2 mark this spring in dual matches. On Friday, Tymchenko posted a come-from-behind win at No. 3 singles over Kansas State's Ivana Kubickova, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0, to help the Lady Tigers defeat the No. 42 Wildcats, 4-2, for their biggest win in program history.

Tymchenko joins Tiger Connor Glennon as the two Memphis players on the court today. Glennon will face Australia's Matthew Ebden in the final match of the day.
