Phoenix, Ariz.-- - The University of Memphis women's tennis team improved to 3-3 in the spring season with a 6-3 victory over San Jose State, Friday.

The Lady Tigers again won three singles matches, as Christina Ladyman, Sabrina Lindemann and Sumitra Rao each posted a single win. Betsy Card and Angie Wilkinson battled, but each lost in three sets.

Head coach Charlotte Peterson made some adjustments to the doubles line-up, splitting up the team of Ladyman/Lindemann and placing Ladyman and Card at No. 1 doubles, where they posted an 8-2 win, while teaming freshmen Lindemann and Rao at No. 2 doubles, where they won 8-6.

The team of Annika Westberg and Claire O'Donoghue also won in doubles, claiming an 8-6 victory in their No. 3 match.

The Lady Tigers will play Weber State at 11 a.m. (Mountain Standard Time) in their final match in Phoenix.
