Claire O'Donoghue's 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (10-8) win at No. 5 singles helped sparked the University of Memphis women's tennis team to a 5-4 win over Southern Mississippi and a split in two Conference USA matches on Saturday.

Earlier in the day DePaul defeated the Lady Tigers 7-2. With the split, Memphis improved to 8-9 overall and 2-1 in C-USA play.

O'Donoghue's tie-breaking win at No. 5 sent the match to doubles tied at 3-3. O'Donoghue teamed with Annika Westberg to win at No. 3, 8-1. Christina Ladyman and Sabrina Lindermann's 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles proved to be the match winner for the Lady Tigers.

Memphis travels to Tennessee-Martin for a dual match Wednesday.
