MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's tennis team will open its 2006-07 Conference USA Tournament action as the No. 11 seed and will face No. 6 seed UTEP, Thursday, at 2 p.m. at the University of Tulsa.

The match-up will be a repeat of an earlier season contest played in El Paso, where the Miners downed Memphis 7-0.

The Lady Tigers will played on the bank of A courts on Thursday, while No. 7 seed Houston faces No. 10 Rice on Bank B courts. No. 8 seed UCF and No. 9 seed East Carolina will open the tournament on the A courts at 10 a.m., Thursday.

The winner of the Memphis/UTEP match will face No. 3 seed Marshall, Friday at 2 p.m. on Court B.

Host Tulsa is the top seed for the tournament, followed by No. 2 seed SMU. Marshall received the No. 3 seed, while UAB was No. 4.

The remainder of the field includes Southern Miss, UTEP, Houston, UCF, East Carolina, Rice and Memphis.
