Murdock Garners All-C-USA Honors For Second Consecutive Season
April 29, 2009
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Ashley Murdock has been named to the All-C-USA Second Team for the second consecutive year as announced on Wednesday by the Conference USA office. Murdock, a native of Memphis, Tenn., becomes the first person to earn a place on the All-C-USA team in consecutive seasons since Monica Gonzalez-Gordo in 2002 and 2003. Murdock finished her second season in the Blue and Gray with a record of 15-9, marking the second consecutive year that the netter from St. Agnes has reached the 15 win plateau. Murdock helped the Memphis Lady Tigers to their best win total since the 2003-04 season. This season she helped Memphis capture several wins over opponents that they have struggled with in recent seasons including Southern Miss, UAB and Samford. The Memphis netter remains as only the fifth Lady Tiger to ever be named all-conference. She joins Christina Ladyman, Sabrina Lindeman and Monica Gonzalez-Gordo as Memphis netters who have earned All-C-USA on more than one occasion. Murdock will return next year as one of four seniors for the Memphis Lady Tigers who lose only one player from the line-up heading into the 2009-10 season.
