MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Senior women's tennis player Marlene Dirnstorfer earned her second straight ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV At-Large Second Team honor it was announced, Wednesday. Dirnstorfer was also a second-team honoree in 2004 and was the lone senior on the Lady Tiger tennis roster this past season.

A native of Vienna, Austria, Dirnstorfer was a two-time All-Conference USA honoree and capped her three-year Lady Tiger career with a pair of degrees from the U of M, including an MBA which she finished in May of 2005. Sporting a 53-35 singles mark and a 51-34 doubles record, Dirnstorfer received the M-Club Female Student-Athlete of the Year Award and the women's tennis team MVP award earlier this spring.

A member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Dirnstorfer has worked in the Tigers' annual Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive, the Toys for Tots campaign and with the Adopt-an-Angel program. She has also served as a student-athlete peer mentor and support the Operation "GEAR" program benefiting the Ronald McDonald House earlier this spring.

Dirnstorfer also completed 18 credits of graduate school during the spring to receive both her bachelor's and master's degrees in three years of eligibility.
