MEMPHIS, Tenn. -
The Memphis women's tennis team will travel to the Roberta Alison Fall Invite in Tuscaloosa, Ala., this weekend to partake in their third consecutive weekend of Fall tournaments. Players from Alabama, Auburn University Montgomery, Georgia State, Kentucky, Memphis, Ole Miss, Murray State, Samford, Tennessee Tech, Tulane and UNC Charlotte will participate in the three day tournament which will be held at the Alabama Tennis Stadium and Student Recreation Courts.
"Last week we had some significant wins and I think we should have some good opportunities to get some other significant wins this weekend in Tuscaloosa," said Head Coach Lee Taylor Walker. "It will be great to have the majority of our team together for the first this year at one tournament."
This will be the first tournament where most of the Memphis women's tennis team will be present at the same tournament. Amanda Brown, Summer Irvin, Ashley Murdock, Marjorie Ondeck, Dara Toulch and Lindsey Wiseman will all participate in this weekend's event.
Last weekend, the Lady Tigers traveled to the Steve Baras Fall Classic in Chattanooga and the William & Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Va. In Williamsburg, junior Ashley Murdock, a Second Team All-C-USA honoree last season, defeated Ohio State's Cami Hubbs, who was 22-4 last year for the Buckeyes. At the Steve Baras Fall Classic, Dara Toulch won three matches and advanced to the final match of her singles flight where she was defeated by Middle Tennessee's Marlene Chernin.
The Lady Tiger's next tournament will be the Ole Miss Classic in Oxford, Miss., on Oct. 10-12.
