MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's tennis team will try to improve on its impressive Saint Louis tournament when the Lady Tigers roll back into tournament play this weekend at the Southern Illinois University-Carbondale tournament.

At the Saint Louis tournament, the Lady Tigers won three championship singles, one consolation singles and one championship doubles titles. Led by a pair of tournament titles from seniors Sabrina Lindemann and Sumitra Rao, the Lady Tigers will line up this weekend against teams from Eastern Illinois, Chicago State and host Southern Illinois.

Two Lady Tiger newcomers captured singles titles at the Saint Louis tournament, including a C Singles title from newcomer Marlene Dirnstorfer in C singles and a D singles consolation title for freshman Kristin Noble from Germantown, Tenn. Dirnstorfer teamed with fellow Austrian newcomer Andrea Feichtinger to also win the B doubles title, dropping just six points en route the tournament title.

The tournament will begin at 9 a.m., Friday. Results will be posted on the Memphis website at www.gotigersgo.com as well as the host website at www.siusalukis.com.
