CHICAGO -- - Memphis graduate student Sabrina Lindemann (Linz, Austria) was named the Conference USA women's tennis player of the month after posting a 6-0 mark through the first two tournaments of the fall schedule.

"It's an award she really truly deserves," Head Coach Charlotte Peterson said. "She works very hard both in the classroom and on the court."

Lindemann, who earned her bachelor's degree in three years in sports science, won the A Singles championship at the Saint Louis Invitational in the fall season opener and went 3-0 at the Southern Illinois tournament last weekend.

Lindemann and teammate Monica Gonzalez-Gordo have also teamed together to become Memphis' first-ever nationally-ranked doubles team by earning an ITA ranking of 31st in the country in the pre-season poll. Lindemann has a career singles record of 68-44 and a career doubles mark of 69-33.

Lindemann also finished 2001 the 30th ranked singles player in the ITA Southeast Region. The Lady Tigers travel to Murfreesboro to compete in the Middle Tennessee Invitational next weekend before hosting their own Varsity Pro Shop Invitational on the recently refurbished HPER Courts on The University of Memphis campus, Oct. 18-19.
