MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Lady Tiger tennis team will wrap up its fall schedule by hosting its own tournament this weekend. Memphis will host Southern Illinois-Carbondale, UT-Chattanooga, Tennessee Tech, Murray State, Saint Louis, Arkansas State and Ball State in the two-day Shoney's/Varsity Pro Shop Lady Tiger Invitational.

There will be seven flights of singles and three full flights of doubles for the tournament, which will open with one round of doubles, Friday morning, before the participants all play two rounds of singles beginning at 11 a.m.

The event will open with doubles play. The No. 1 doubles team of Marlene Dirnstorfer and Brooke Cowie will play the Saint Louis duo of Lozanova and Grant beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Memphis team of Andrea Feichtinger and Alex Tjioe will also start play at 9:30, squaring off against Saravia and Branker from Arkansas State. The final Lady Tiger tandem will be Christina Wieser and Kristin Noble. Wieser and Noble will face Ball State's Owens and Calderwood, also beginning at 9:30 a.m.

In No. 1 singles, Memphis' Marlene Dirnstorfer will face SIU-Carbondale's Mario Blanco, beginning at 11 a.m. Feichtinger will play No. 2 singles for Memphis, and will play Saint Louis' Amanda Hellberg, beginning at 11 a.m. In the No. 3 bracket, freshman Brooke Cowie will play SIU-Carbondale's Joana Hornestam. Kristin Noble will play No. 4 singles, starting against Saint Louis' Tara Grant, also beginning at 11 a.m.

The No. 5-7 singles brackets will begin play at 12:30 p.m., with Alex Tjioe faces SIU-C's Laura Bredniak at No. 5 singles. Fellow sophomore Christina Wieser will play Adriana Alvarez, also from SIU-C at No. 6, while freshman Kathrin Kohl will open her tournament in a smaller No. 7 singles bracket against Beth Campus from Ball State in a semifinal.
