Women's Tennis Hosts Memphis Collegiate Invite

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After hosting the five-day USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional two weeks ago, the University of Memphis women's tennis team returns home for the Memphis Collegiate Invite Friday through Sunday at The Racquet Club of Memphis. Admission is free to the event.
Joining the Lady Tigers this weekend will be former conference foe Tulsa, Marquette, Chattanooga, Abilene Christian, Miami (OH) and Lipscomb.
The teams will begin Friday at 9 a.m. (CT) with two rounds of doubles play indoors. The duo of senior Stefanie Mikesz and freshman Anki Wind will face Chattanooga's Alexa Flynn and Kelsey Coots while the team of redshirt senior Liza Tymchenko and sophomore Skylar Kuykendall will take on Christine Guerrazzi and Ana Rajkovic of Miami (OH). Junior Alyssa Hibberd and sophomore Caroline Wegner receive a bye in the first round and will begin play at 10 a.m.
Players will also compete in one round of singles Friday, beginning outdoors at 1 p.m. In the Blue Draw, Hibberd will face Marquette's Ana Pimienta while Kuykendall squares off against ACU's Micah Hermsdorf at the bottom of the draw. In the Gray Draw, Wegner plays Ali Dawson of Marquette while Wind takes on Alix Thurman of Miami (OH).
Freshman Marta Morga faces Chattanooga's Claire Mulyadi in the Orange Draw, Tymchenko squares off against Marquette's Laia Hernandez Soler in the Black Draw and Mikesz faces Marquette's Erin Gebes in the White Draw to round out the day for Memphis.
