Distance Coach (First Season)

Toby Reep enters his first year with the Tigers as the cross country/distance coach. He will be responsible for the men's and women's cross country teams, as well being responsible for some recruiting.

"We're excited to have Toby on board. I think he brings a lot of enthusiasm and motivation to this position," said Robinson. "He is a proven recruiter and a solid coach. I think he is going to be able to help bring our distance program up to a level that corresponds with the rest of our program and make us a championship caliber team."

Reep competed at South Plains College, in Levelland, Texas. While at South Plains he was a member of the cross country team that earned the National Junior College Athletic Association(NJCAA) Cross Country National Championship in 1997. He later transferred to West Texas A&M, where he graduated in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology.

Following his running career, Reep moved on to the University of North Texas serving as the distance coach from 2004-06. After a two-year stint he joined the University of Louisiana at Monroe track program. While with the Warhawks, Reep served as the distance coach for the past two years (2006-08), before arriving at the U of M.

Reep is married to the former Alysha Hensley, who is a physical therapist.
