Wilson joined six other highly touted freshmen distance runners enrolling at the U of M last fall....Wilson is expected to make an immediate impact on both the track and cross country teams as a freshman.

2003: CROSS COUNTRY-Finished 54th at the Commodore Classic with a 5K time of 21:38.33...Ran a 20:29 at the Notre Dame Invitational...Ran a 24:54.14 at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Classic (6K)...Finished 76th at the C-USA Championships with a 24:34.30.

PREP: Attended Central Catholic High School (Portland, Ore.)....Lettered in track for four years and cross country for three years....Won the Mount Hood Conference Championships in the 800m and 4x400m relay as a sophomore....Won the conference championship in the 800m as a junior....Was the Junior Olympic State Championship in the 1500m in 2002....Captain of the cross country team as a junior and senior and captain of the track team as a sophomore, junior and senior....Earned first team all-conference honors in track (800m, 4x400m relay)....Named track team and cross country team MVP in high school....Also played basketball and was a cheerleader.....Coached by Bob Williams.

PERSONAL: Full name is Michel Lee Wilson....Born in Corvallis, Ore. on June 30, 1984....Major is undecided....Daughter of Michael and Eileen Wilson....Chose Memphis because of Assistant Coach Jonas Holdeman.... After graduation hopes to run in the Boston Marathon....Hopes to get involved with St. Jude's Hospital community work....Has done community service work with Blanche House, Helping Hands Day Care, Providence Children's Hospital and Christian Youth Organizations (CYO)....Enjoys snow boarding, surfing and foam dancing....Favorite band is "Rascal Flats"....Was also recruited by the United States Military Academy at West Point (Army) and The University of New Orleans.
