Fayetteville, Ark.-- - Senior thrower Kameilah Amaya (Carbondale, Ill./Carbondale) finished fourth for the Lady Tiger Track team at the Razorback Invitational, Friday.

Amaya posted a mark of 17.11 meters (56-1.75) to finish fourth among 18 competitors at the meet. Amaya could be on track to return to the Arkansas track later this year, as her 17.11 meter mark is not far from the provisionally-qualifying distance of 17.70 meters required for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Amaya was one of just four Lady Tigers to compete in the first day of the two-day meet. Freshmen Genita Brown and Lisa Marie Hyman got their first taste of collegiate competition against some of the top runners in the country, finishing 26th and 27th in the 400, respectively. Brown finished with a time of 1:07.78, while Brown crossed the line in 1:08.08.

The Lady Tiger squad is split, with some competitors at the meet in Fayetteville, while the remainder of the squad will travel to Arkansas State tomorrow to begin their indoor season.
