A slew of personal records were posted at the Rod McCravy Memorial track and field meet at the University of Kentucky on Saturday. A University of Memphis school record was also broken by three different Tigers at the indoor meet.

In the indoor Heptathlon, Luis Hanssler broke the school record set by teammate Marc Klaschka last season, with 5,291 points to win the event. Klaschka, however, finished right behind Hanssler for second, with a score of 5,204. Competing in his first-ever collegiate meet for Memphis, Tuure Hollo finished third with 5,079 points. Hanssler finished first in four of the seven events (60-meter dash, long jump, 60-meter hurdles and the 1000 meter run), while his teammates swept the other three events with Klashka finishing first in the shot put while Hollo scored the most points in the high jump and the pole vault. The scores posted by Hanssler and Klaschka placed them on the NCAA Division I indoor championships qualifying list. Hanssler's total ranks 15th in the NCAA, while Klaschka's mark ranks 25th.

Joining those two on the indoor qualifying list is sophomore Manuel Ziegler, who was the top-finishing collegiate participant in the triple jump, finishing second overall with a leap of 15.74 meters, a personal best. The second-place finish continues a hot streak for Ziegler, who won the triple jump in his first two collegiate indoor meets and currently ranks sixth in the country in the event.

A number of Tigers also posted personal records at the meet, led by junior Brandon Williams, who posted a personal record in the 400-meter-dash, lowering his best time to 49.13 seconds and finishing 13th in the over 50-member field.

In the 800 meter run, freshman Godfrey Fayne was one of four Tigers to post a PR in the event, finishing 11th overall with a mark of 1:54.35. In the mile run, sophomore Julien Wolf posted the team's best time in the event this season, finishing 18th overall in the field of 44 runners with a time of 4:18.37. In the 3,000 meter run, junior James Maglasang dropped over seven seconds off his PR, finishing 17th overall with 8:33.22 time.

On the women's side, senior Louisa Lingley also dropped the team's best effort in the 3000 meter run, posting a time of 10:10.48 in her first 3,000 meter race of the indoor season. Sophomore Sydney Wright also improved her team-best effort in the triple jump, improving from a 10.85 meter mark to an 11.21 meter result at the McCravy Memorial, Saturday. Another sophomore improving her personal best and leading the team in meets on the season was Vivian Brandhoff, who posted a mark of 14.55 meters to improve her mark and to finish 11th in the field.

In the women's 800 meter run, junior Nandia Taylor also posted a PR, dropping her best time in the event to 2:15.13, finishing 13th overall in a crowded 52 runner field. Teammates Keyona Neal and Jennifer Johnston finished 15th and 16th in that same event, a personal best for Johnston and the first time Neal has competed in the event in the indoor season.

The Tigers will compete in the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame University on Saturday, Feb. 2nd.
