@MemTigersTF_XC Women Notch Three Wins at Missouri Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo.-The University of Memphis women’s track and field team won three events at the Missouri Invitational, on Friday.
Maya Williamson took first in the 800m crossing the finish line at 2:09.51. Martina Rodriguez (2:13.82) took second, with Jenny Johnston (2:16.53) and Meghan Christensen (2:19.71) taking sixth and eighth respectively.
DaQuanya Byrd-West took the 200m title with a time of 25.30. Destinee Landsden (25.37) and Monica Mason (26.41) placed third and 10th respectively. Byrd-West also took third in the 60m with a time of 7.70.
Vivian Brandhoff scored a win in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 15.11m (49’7”). Britta Jaarats (14.71m, 48’3.25”), Cyarra Wells (12.91m, 42’4.25”) and Courtney Krueger (12.46m,40’10.5”) placed second, fifth and eighth. Jaarats also recorded a second place finish in the weight throw with a mark of (17.68m 58’0.25”)
The Tigers also picked up several podium finishes. In the 400m Lansden and Mason notched top-five finishes with Landsden (57.85) taking second and Mason (58.67) placing fifth. Julia Murbach took third in the mile run recording a time of 5:14.96.
In other field events, Laura Toldy tied for second in the high jump clearing 1.66m (5’5.25”). Chardae Greenlee (5.16m, 16’11.25’), Sydney Wright (5.15m, 16’10.75”) and Toldy (4.96m, 16-03.25) finished 12th, 14th, and 16th respectively in the long jump. Greenlee took second in the triple jump with a leap of 12.01m (39’5”).
