Keenan Gibson Sweeps Sprints at Tulane Invitational

New Orleans, La.-- - Led by freshman Keenan Gibson in the short sprints, the University of Memphis women's track and field team claimed titles in four events at the Tulane Invitational, Saturday. Gibson led the Lady Tigers with wins in the 100 and 200, crossing the line in 11.72 in the 100 and 23.77 in the 200. Teammate Melissa Abraham finished sixth in the 100 and ninth in the 200. Junior Barbara Wine and freshman Autumn Parkey (Germantown, Tenn./Houston) added two more first-place finishes. Wine won the shot put with a 13.14 meter effort (43-1.50), while Parkey cleared 8-11.75 to win the women's pole vault. A pair of Lady Tigers added strong finishes in the 100-meter hurdles. Freshman Shameika Johnson and senior Zaneta Ivy, finished three-four, respectively, in 1:06.28 and 1:15.39.
