Gibson Ties Meet and Stadium Record at ASU Track Invite

Jonesboro, Ark.-- - Led by a record-tying performance by freshman Keenan Gibson, the women's track and field team finished second at the Arkansas State Track Classic, Saturday. Gibson won the 200-meter dash, finishing in 24.11 seconds, tying the meet and stadium record set by Camille Clark from Southwest Missouri last April. Gibson, who posted the fastest 200 time in Conference USA at Tulane last weekend, also won the 100-meter dash at ASU with a time of 11.85 in the finals. Also winning events at Saturday's meet were senior Zaneta Ivy in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.93), junior Barbara Wine in the shot put (13.39 meters--43-11), freshman Shameika Johnson in the 100-meter hurdles (14.76), junior Wendy Ragle in the 1500 (4:55.36) and junior Kameilah Amaya in the hammer throw (49.68 meters--163-00). Arkansas State won the meet with 231 points, followed by Memphis with 172 points and Murray State with 119 points.
