AUBURN, Ala.-Following a week off from competition, the Tigers returned to action, Friday and Saturday, at the War Eagle Invitational hosted by Auburn.
Sabrina Hochreuther and Carolina Carmichael each cleared a new outdoor program-record in the pole vault placing third and fourth respectively at 4.15m (13'7.25"). The duo surpassed the previous mark held by current teammate Clara Amat Fernandez of 3.95m (12'11.5") set during the 2013 season.
In the hammer throw, Cyarra Wells took ninth with a throw of 48.37m (158'8"). Brandhoff also took sixth in the discus with a mark of 42.44m (139'3").
In running events, Maya Williamson took second in the 400m hurdles clocking in at 1:00.33. Destinee Lansden took ninth in the 400m dash in a time of 55.75. In the 200m dash, DaQuanya Byrd-West placed 21st in a time of 24.66.
The Tigers placed three runners in the top-10 in the 800m. Marina Rodriguez (2:13.74), Julia Merbach (2:14.17) and Jenny Johnston (2:15.17) placed in order fifth through seventh. In the 3,000m steeplechase, Erica Owen took fifth with a time of 12:12.55.
Memphis took third in the 4 x 400m relay. The team of Monica Mason, Lansden, Toldy and Williamson notched a time of 3:46.27 for the podium finish.
